This summer brought the Scottish Festivals to Utah! The Thanksgiving Point Festival and Games in Lehi, UT in June had perfect Scottish weather...meaning it POURED rain for about an hour with horrible winds! Blew over tents and displays but us hardy Scots stuck it out and eventually the sun DID shine! Records were set for the atheletics and dancers danced! The Wicked Tinkers and Molly's Revenge kept the crowds entertained and it was just a lovely weekend!

The Scottish Festival in Payson, UT was very nice with our typical Utah weather..meaning it was hot in the Beehive State! Oceans Apart and Citrine (a ladies' Celtic music group) played for everyone! My youngest became Oceans Apart's youngest "roady." It was so nice to see so many people enjoying themselves in the warm weather!

And August heralded in a NEW Scottish festival in Wellsville, UT a.k.a. Cache Valley Celtic Festival. What an awesome view of the mountains as a back drop for the Festival! Even though this is in its infancy, it shows a LOT of promise for the folks in Norhtern Utah and Southern Idaho. Please help this Festival get off the ground in the next year or two! We can't afford to lose this one! Citrine also performed at this one and they did brilliantly!

Thanks to all of you who visit this website for St. Andrew's Society of Utah! May you have a beautiful autumn and may you all be blessed.

Jenny ~aka~ Celtie

Vice President

St. Andrew's Society of Utah

It's May 2nd and it is raining, again. As Utah is the second driest State in America (behind Nevada) the rain is quite welcome. But I'd REALLY like to get out in the yard and get it ready for summer! I think the rain drove away our resident Mrs. Robin from her nest and left her egg unhatched. Very sad!

I'm just hoping that our 8th Annual St. Andrew's Society Golf Tournament won't be rained out. I know my friends is Scotland get rain a lot and that the weather is probably rainy for golfing, but this is MOST definatly weather for the ducks!

Jenny
